Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the sudden and unexpected death of an infant under the age of 12 months which remains unexplained after a thorough case investigation. It is the leading cause of death for children in this age group.
Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) is caused by the vigorous shaking of an infant or young child by an adult caring for them. This is a form of child abuse and over 25% of the children who are shaken die or suffer advanced complications from their injuries.
CCI offers trainings to child caregivers about both of these serious syndromes. Please contact us at 212.929.7604 if you would like more information about these trainings.
