Child Care, Inc.'s launched its work in the area of children's asthma by providing training and support services to center- based child care providers in 2005 through a joint project with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Targeted to high-risk locations in the South Bronx, CCI's team of nurses and support staff worked intensively with center staff, helping them to better screen, track, and support children and families managing asthma.
Through this project, CCI has developed a strong curriculum for child care providers to learn how to best work with children with asthma across New York City.
