CCI works to assure access to high quality, affordable early childhood services for every family that needs them. Currently on our agenda:
- Advocates have long pressed for a more unified system of early care and education in New York City. A new policy steering committee in the Mayor's office is now working across agencies and funding streams to integrate early childhood services. CCI convened key policy makers to share their vision and new policy goals at a forum, What's Next for Early Care and Education
- CCI is working to ensure that public funding supports quality programming in every setting. See the first in our series of policy briefs on what it costs.
- CCI leads the advocacy to support improvements in training for staff in center-based infant-toddler programs. The city's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene recently supported such improvements in its proposed revisions to Article 47.
- New York State stands at the threshold of an extraordinary opportunity -- our new governor is committed to early childhood education. Together, we need to work to make sure he leads the way to new investments in early childhood education. Join our statewide campaign to make it happen at Winning Beginning NY.
