The New York State School-Age Credential is an intensive, exciting, and practical professional development opportunity for school age directors and staff. If you are a school-age professional who is committed and determined to make a difference in the field of school-age care, this training is for you! It is a competency-based program that provides specific standards and practices that give the staff member the necessary tools to run a well-managed quality program.
After School programs that serve children under the age of 13 must be registered with a School-Age Care Permit through the New York City Department of Health. The Office of Children and Family Services has added a new amendment to the NYS School-Age Care Regulations (414). The SAC Credential can help you meet the minimum education requirements when paired with experience.
The Credential is geared towards adult learners and includes lectures, field studies, portfolio development, and one-on-one work with an advisor - all over 120 hours. Once the Credential Candidate has met the required hours, they can apply for the New York State School-Age Care Credential.
Join one of the Nation's Leading Credential Trainers! Chandra Travis, who has trained over 300 School Age Care Professionals and who sits on the faculty of a number of universities, is CCI's Credential Trainer.
Previous CCI SAC Credential Graduates have gone on to own their own programs, become the director of city-wide programs, and have been honored for major school-age care awards.
